Alvie & Dalraddy are traditional Highland Estates 4 miles south of
Aviemore near the village of Kincraig in Badenoch, the geographic centre
of Scotland. The Estates extend into the Monadhliath hills from the
River Spey, famous for its fishing and whisky and overlook the Cairngorm
Mountain range in the Cairngorms National Park.
For the physically active there is canoeing, sailing, skiing,
golf, gliding, rock climbing, mountain biking and hill walking on our
doorstep or in the vicinity. For the less adventurous there are numerous
low level walks on the Estate and in the area.

For those interested in our history, Delfour standing stones are
located on the Estate dating back almost 6,000 years. Also in the area
are Iron Age forts, the Wolf of Badenoch's castle at Loch an Eilean,
Ruthven Barracks and the Highland Folk Museum at Kingussie, the Highland
Folk Park at Newtonmore, the steam railway at Aviemore and Landmark at
Carrbridge. Within an hour drive is Culloden battlefield and a number of
castles to visit.

Wildlife is abundant in the area; there is also the Highland Wildlife
Park, a bird reserve by Loch Insh, an Osprey hide at Boat of Garten, an
exhibition centre on Cairngorm Mountain, a heather nursery near Dulnain
Bridge and an Alpine nursery near Feshiebridge.
The Estate is well worth exploring, help the keeper feed the deer in
the winter months or watch sheep being clipped in June. Estate tours can
be organised if you want to learn more about our countryside and how we
make a living. The estates include a hill farm with sheep and pedigree
shorthorn cows, a fish hatchery, native pinewoods, wood chip production
for bio-fuel, poly tunnels producing strawberries and raspberries, horse
riding stables, a rock quarry and a gravel quarry. There are also sheep
dog demonstrations at Kincraig.

Venison, lamb, beef, strawberries, raspberries and smoked trout can be
purchased from Dalraddy Holiday Park shop depending on the season or by
contacting the farm, gardens or fish hatchery.

Alvie House - an Edwardian style shooting lodge providing fully catered

There are 3 self catering cottages on the farm, 2 flats in Alvie House plus chalets and static caravanson Dalraddy Holiday Park.
Own your own holiday home on Dalraddy Holiday Park overlooking the
Cairngorms or bring your own tent, touring caravan, camper van or motor
home. There is a shop on the Park selling Estate produce and essentials
plus a laundrette and children's play park.

Badenoch Land Management Ltd. is based on the Estate providing a
forestry consultancy, management, mapping and contracting service
throughout the Highlands. Alvie is the main supplier of wood chips for
bio-fuel in Badenoch & Strathspey.
